About me

I am a BACP registered psychodynamic psychotherapist with a private practice, working with clients online.  I hold an MSc in Psychology (BPS) and an MA in Psychodynamic Counselling.  The psychodynamic approach uses the therapeutic relationship to explore thoughts, feelings and experiences and make sense of where you are now.

I have a particular interest in the relationship we have with our bodies. We often use our bodies and food as tools to control unexplained emotions or express externally something that is happening in our inner world.

There may be a particular issue or feeling you are struggling with or you may be seeking clarity around repeating patterns and behaviours.  I offer a safe, confidential space to think about presenting symptoms and support you in understanding yourself to create lasting change.

I can offer online therapy to suit your location and needs.  Face-to-face appointments in my private office are currently fully booked.

I offer an initial telephone or video call to meet and discuss what has brought you to therapy.  You can ask questions and share information with me in a safe, confidential space so you can decide if we are a good fit to work together.  This exploratory session is free of charge and you are not obliged to make any further commitment unless you feel happy to do so.

I work with adults and young people.  I am able to work long term or for a shorter fixed period depending on your requirements.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
