About me

COLLABORATIVE PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES - CBT, ACT, CFT and EMDR

I am a trained doctor of Clinical Psychology and a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT). I have also completed formal training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I have worked in the field of mental health for more than ten years and I also provide CBT teaching on a local Clinical Psychology Doctoral program.

I am a passionate and caring practitioner who has gained extensive experience of working with people in distress. I began working in primary care, providing a range of therapies (CBT, CFT, ACT) to those reporting anxiety, depression, OCD, panic, health anxiety, worry, low self esteem and body image difficulties. More recently, I have been working with individuals struggling with trauma, loss, and relational conflict.

In therapy we will explore your current difficulties and understand these in relation to your earlier life experiences. We will then work to develop healthier coping skills and focus on you achieving your goals in the shortest time period possible. Your new found knowledge of yourself and your positive coping skills will help you maintain positive change, even in the face of later adversity.

Engaging in therapy is both brave and life changing. My initial aim is to build a warm and safe relationship with you, so that we can come to a clear and shared understanding of your difficulties, prior to embarking on your unique treatment journey.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Doctor of Clinical Psychology, Staffordshire and Keele Universities (2012-2015)

Over the course of my career I have also engaged in various shorter training courses in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Intensive Short term Psychodynamic therapy.

This extensive experience is vital as it allows me to draw from a very wide knowledge base and to create a specialized treatment plan which will meet your own individual needs.

The range of training I have engaged in also means I am able to offer high quality supervision.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
