About me

I work in a holistic and dogma-free way, holding space for people experiencing suffering and dysfunction in their lives, providing a safe container in which to explore perhaps old wounds or unconscious patterns that often re-emerge in times of crisis or transition.
My principles are rooted in existential and humanistic philosophy. I am interested in what it means to be human and how the process of relating helps us to make meaning in life.

Through the quality of the therapeutic relationship, clients are able to hear their own voice and explore previously unmet or denied parts of their inner landscape, leading to the integration and healing of historical traumas, pain and suffering. This is done in a self-paced, empathetic and gentle way. Self-trust is nurtured and tended to, allowing clients to develop the agency and autonomy needed to find their way to a more fulfilling and meaningful life. This can be a powerful process of transformation for those caught in negative cycles of self-destruct or sabotage.

Asking for help when you really need it is hard, we tend to keep on pushing on,  gaslighting ourselves into thinking there are others in greater need, or that our suffering or pain does not warrant the support of another. The slavedriver and inner critic within can hold us hostage– but the process of connecting with another, and being truly seen and heard with empathy and non-judgement, can have a deep and long lasting impact - changing the way you relate with the people in your life, and most importantly, how you relate with yourself.

I run clinics in Central Falmouth and St.Agnes, as well as online via Skype. I offer a free initial call to answer any questions you may have and to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy along with your hopes for the future.

My fee is £45 for one hour. I am an advocate for social justice and as such, please ask if you need to be considered for a concession place. I offer these to single parents and students. Sessions are 1 hour weekly (fortnightly considered) for a minimum of 6 weeks. I do not currently work with couples or people under the age of 16.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
