About me
I am an accredited counsellor with British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
As a trained integrative counsellor, my approach is primarily focused on person-centered and relational therapy. This means that many of our challenges often stem from our relationships with others. Together, we will work at your pace to establish a collaborative working relationship that suits both of us. I hope that by providing a safe, non-judgemental and supportive environment would allow you to slowly open up and work through your issues.
At times, I might challenge you with the hope that you would slowly more aware about yourself. This would be done in a supportive manner. I offer both short and long terms counselling, the number of sessions needed for each client will be different and we will work out that together.
My last job was a student counsellor with University of York supporting both home and international students who were struggling with their wellbeing, helping them to cope with academic pressures. Before that, I volunteered in York Mind and Women's Centre working with clients from various backgrounds in terms of nationality, ethnicity, faith and economic backgrounds.
I offer counselling sessions in both English and Mandarin. Being able to offer Mandarin sessions had been beneficial to the international students when I was working in the university. As often when one was distressed one would prefer to express them in their native language.
Coming to counselling especially if it were your first time can be daunting and scary, and finding a right counsellor can even more challenging. You could email to book a no obligation free telephone or Zoom initial consultation for us to get to know each other and for you to ask me questions and decide if I am the right counsellor for you.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
