About me
I am an accredited counsellor with British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I hold a Master Degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy awarded by York St John University.
Highly experienced integrative counsellor of more than 10 years. My last job was a student counsellor with University of York supporting both home and international students who were struggling with their wellbeing, helping them to cope with academic pressures. Before that, I volunteered in York Mind and Women's Centre working with clients from various backgrounds in terms of nationality, ethnicity, faith and economic backgrounds.
As an integrative counsellor, I am providing a supportive, safe and confidential environment for you to explore and reflect your issues on a deeper level. By us working together and giving you the space to reflect on, you would find the solutions to your issues and make the positive changes in your life that you would like to achieve. My role is to facilitate that change by providing support and challenge you when appropriate.
I offer counselling sessions in both English and Mandarin. Being able to offer Mandarin sessions had been beneficial to the international students when I was working in the university. As often when one was distressed one would prefer to express them in their native language.
Coming to counselling especially if it were your first time can be daunting and scary, and finding a right counsellor can even more challenging. That's why I offer no obligation free telephone or Zoom initial consultation for us to get to know each other and for you to ask me questions and decide if I am the right counsellor for you.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
