About me

Hello.

I’m Emma - a qualified counsellor offering you sessions in-person, online and in the outdoors.

If you're looking for a counsellor who will listen deeply, honour your identity, and walk alongside you (sometimes literally:)) with curiosity and care, I’d love to hear from you.

You bring your story shaped by culture, relationships, and experience - and I bring a culturally sensitive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and story-aware approach that honours that.

A bit more about me...

I’ve always been curious about people, meaning, and identity. Born in London, raised in Geneva, and now based in Comber, I draw on a background in Social Anthropology, a Master's in Creative Writing, and my training as a counsellor to help you make sense of your experience and reclaim your story.

I too have been on a counselling journey, and through my counsellor getting to know me, I got to know myself too. I was able to heal through learning the value of my own story, and I'd love to help you learn the value of yours.

How I Work

Your story, your pace, your needs - everything we do together starts with you.

I'm trained integratively, which means multiple schools of Psychology influence my work. These include person-centred, trauma-informed, CBT, Psychodynamic and narrative therapy.

In our sessions, you talk about what you choose to talk about, and I listen. Through this gentle approach, together we build a picture of your story and untangle what needs to be untangled, so you can move forward with more knowledge of who and why you are.

I believe healing happens when we feel truly seen. So whether you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected - or simply ready to get to know yourself more deeply - I offer a safe space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface.

My Services
You can choose the counselling format that feels right for you - in person, online, over the phone, or outside in nature. We can also mix and match these to work best for you.

In-Person
If you prefer a calm space to meet, I offer face-to-face counselling from a private room in Physio+, a multidisciplinary physiotherapy clinic. This setting influences my approach - I pay close attention to how the body holds stress, trauma, and emotion. Together, we can explore how to reconnect with your body, find calm, and build resilience from the inside out.

Online
Online sessions give you the flexibility of connecting from the comfort of your own space. Whether you're at home or on the go, we can create a grounded, focused space to explore what’s going on for you.

Phone
Phone counselling can feel less intense than video or in-person sessions and is a great option if you prefer to talk without the need for a screen or travel. It allows you to focus purely on the conversation.

Walk and Talk
If you find movement and being outdoors helpful, walk and talk counselling could be a great fit. Walking side-by-side allows us to combine physical activity with emotional processing, and can create space for deeper conversation.

I'm here to help you:

  • Build confidence and self-esteem
  •  Cope with grief and loss
  • Heal from religious abuse and purity culture
  • Navigate relationships and sexuality
  • Explore mortality and existential concerns
  • Manage anxiety and depression
  • Reframe and thrive within neurodivergence
  • Find balance and understanding in parenthood
  • Improve body image

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 4 Foundation Degree in Counselling, supported by a BA in Social Anthropology and an MA in Creative Writing. This foundation helps me understand the complexity of human experience - how culture, narrative, and relationship shape who we are and how we heal.

To offer you a responsive and inclusive space, I’ve also undertaken CPD training in areas such as:

  • Suicide risk awareness and intervention
  • Supporting LGBTQIA+ clients
  • Working with neurodivergent experiences
  • Trauma-informed assessment
  • Religious trauma
  • Walk-and-talk therapy
  • Intergenerational trauma
  • White privilege and allyship
  • Anticipatory grief

Raised in a multilingual environment and educated in a French-speaking school, I’m fluent in both English and French, and am in tune with the nuances of cultural identity, migration, and belonging.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
