Do you want to blossom into the best version of yourself? Are you feeling stuck and want to find a way to move forward with your life?
If that sounds like you, I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for help, but I am here to support you through your journey. I can honestly say that counselling can transform your life, so well done for taking the first step!
Within our work together, you will always be the expert of your own life. By offering you warmth and compassion, sessions with me will provide you with a safe space to process and explore your feelings, at a pace that you feel comfortable with. As we build a therapeutic connection, I will act as a 'sounding board' for you to communicate your feelings and emotions into the room, with no fear of judgement, criticism or bias.
The main aim of our work will be to empower you to develop a deeper level of self-awareness, and to improve your self-esteem. Therapy should help you get back to feeling like you again, or even better - an improved version of you with new boundaries, more resilience and clarity on what you want from life!
I have worked with people from all walks of life, many of whom are suffering from depression or higher levels of anxiety than usual, or who have extremely low self-esteem. I also support people struggling with workplace stress, empowering them to build resilience and establish a better work-life balance. Many of my clients have been on the Autistic Spectrum and/or have been diagnosed with ADHD.
I have recently completed training in Infant and Baby Loss, which included Pregnancy and Infant Loss Specialist, Rainbow Baby Specialist and Infertility Specialist modules. Supporting people who have experienced any of these issues, is an area I feel really passionate about.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me on info@emmamahilcounselling.com. I'd be more than happy to provide any reassurance and answer any questions you have before we begin.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
