About me
Is your grief becoming too much to bear, making everyday life feel overwhelming?
Is Anxiety Affecting Your Ability to Enjoy Life?
I’m Here to Offer Support and Help You Find Your Way Forward.
I am Emma, an experienced Registered Counsellor at Croft Counselling in Walsall in the West Midlands. I specialise in grief, loss in all its forms, anxiety support, and support for other challenges you may be facing.
Here’s how you can find a way forward and help you take the next step towards healing…
I am committed to making counselling accessible to everyone. I offer support to adults and teenagers aged 16 and above, with flexible options to suit your needs. You can choose from face-to-face sessions in a private, comfortable therapy room in Walsall, or access online and telephone counselling. For those with mobility challenges or difficulty attending in-person sessions, home visits are available locally. Whatever your situation, I’m here to help you find the support you need.
How I can support you - Bereavement Support
As an experienced grief counsellor, I will listen and offer understanding, as you process your loss at your own pace. I can help you navigate the complex and natural emotions that come with grief. You might be feeling sadness, confusion, anger, or guilt—emotions that are deeply personal and unique to your experience. Grief can often feel like waves of intense emotion, overwhelming you at times, especially when you least expect it. Often the pain can be too difficult to bear, and you may distract yourself to cope with daily life, living each day numb to your emotions.
Whatever you're feeling, getting the right counselling support can really help during this difficult time. You will have the opportunity to process your emotions and express how you truly feel without worrying about upsetting family or friends. Counselling can also be really helpful if you don’t see many people or feel isolated, giving you a chance to share how you’re feeling in a supportive and understanding environment.
I have experience working with individuals who have been bereaved by suicide, an incredibly complex and painful form of loss. I understand the unique challenges that come with this type of grief, including feelings of guilt, confusion, anger, and a sense of unanswered questions. My approach is rooted in compassion, helping you navigate the intense emotions that may arise while providing a non-judgmental space to process your grief. Together, we can explore ways to honour your loved one’s memory and work towards finding healing, while acknowledging the deep impact of this loss on your life.
Through this process, we will focus on continuing bonds, and maintaining a connection with your loved one in a way that feels meaningful to you. This might include keeping their memory alive through rituals, talking about them, or incorporating their values and lessons into your life as you move forward in your healing journey.
How I can support you - Other types of Loss
Grief is not limited to bereavement—it can also stem from the end of a job, the decline in someone's health, the breakdown of a relationship, or the loss of a home. Grief is a universal experience that can come with all types of loss, even certain types that aren’t universally recognised, such as the loss of a beloved pet or friendship. The pain of grief is still present and can be just as profound, even if others may not fully understand or acknowledge it. Everyone’s experience of loss is unique, and the emotional impact can be deeply felt.
If you're here, you might be facing one of these challenges and considering counselling for support. I can help you process your thoughts and help you express how you feel during times when you're struggling with the loss of something important.
Support with Anxiety - Regain calm and control
In addition to bereavement support, I also assist individuals facing challenges with anxiety. You might feel restless, tense, or on edge as if something bad is about to happen - even if there’s no clear reason why. You may wake up in the morning with that familiar dread in the pit of your stomach which stays with you all day. It can even leave you drained, as though you're carrying an invisible burden that never seems to lighten, like an invisible weight pressing down, making even simple tasks feel overwhelming.
Anxiety is your mind’s way of responding to stress, but when it starts to take over, it can affect every part of your life, from your relationships to your ability to enjoy the things you love.
Sometimes, simply having someone to listen and understand what you're going through can bring a sense of relief. Together, we can develop coping strategies to help you regain a sense of control and calm. My role is to support you in finding relief, building resilience, and creating a healthier relationship with your thoughts and emotions in a space where you will never be judged. You don't have to face anxiety alone—I'm here to help you through it.
How I can support you - Menopause and Anxiety
Menopause is a natural stage in life that brings significant hormonal changes, which can have a profound impact on mental and emotional well-being. Many women experience heightened anxiety during this time, often because of fluctuating hormone levels. These changes can lead to feelings of unease, nervousness, and even panic. The physical symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes, sleep disturbances, and mood swings, can further exacerbate anxiety, creating a cycle that makes it difficult to find relief.
If you are predisposed to anxiety or stress, the challenges of menopause can feel particularly overwhelming. It's important to acknowledge that these feelings are valid, and seeking support can make a significant difference in managing the emotional effects of this transition. I offer support and understanding to help you navigate these changes, explore your emotions, and develop strategies to cope. Together, we can work towards restoring balance, improving your well-being, and helping you lead a more empowered and fulfilling life during this time of transition.
No matter what you're facing, I'm here to help...
Whether it's grief, anxiety, trauma, or any other challenge, I am committed to offering compassionate, person-centred support. Together, we can work through the difficulties you're experiencing at your own pace, helping you build resilience and find your way forward.
What to expect in your first session...
It’s completely normal to feel apprehensive before your first session, and I aim to create a warm, non-judgmental environment where you can feel comfortable and understood. In the first session, we’ll spend some time getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to counselling. I’ll listen carefully to your thoughts and feelings to understand your unique experience. We’ll also go over any questions you may have about the counselling process, confidentiality, and the agreement that outlines our work together. This session is a chance to begin building our relationship and establish a foundation for moving forward.
Finding the right Counsellor...
I understand that finding the right counsellor can feel overwhelming, and I’m here to help guide you through the process. I invite you to take a moment to visit my website, linked at the top of my profile, to learn more about my approach and see if we might be a good fit for your therapy journey. On my website, you’ll also find a blog and free resources focused on emotional health and self-care. I’m passionate about helping people learn, grow, and take care of their well-being, and I hope these resources can support you as you move forward. I also offer a free 10-minute introductory call to put your mind at ease, which you can book at the top of the page.
My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and a commitment to healing at your pace. I recognise the unique strengths and challenges every person brings and believe in working together to process these experiences, build resilience, and help you reclaim a sense of control and well-being.
As a trauma-informed practitioner, I understand how trauma can deeply affect individuals, shaping thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in ways that may feel overwhelming or unmanageable. Trauma can influence every part of life—relationships, self-esteem, and even physical well-being—and it often leaves people feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsafe. I will endeavour to support you in navigating these challenges, creating a compassionate space where we can work together at your pace.
If you prefer face-to-face sessions, you’re welcome to express yourself in whatever way feels most comfortable for you—whether that’s talking, walking around, or working creatively. This is your opportunity to explore, reflect, and find what works for you. I understand that one-on-one counselling might feel too intense for some, and sometimes engaging in another activity while processing can make it easier to open up. Together, we can find the approach that best supports your healing and allows you to feel more at ease.
I also offer a free 10-minute introductory call where you can ask any questions and decide if this is the right path for you. You can book this call via the link at the top of my page.
If you’d like to learn more or schedule your first session, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m here to help.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
