About me
I am an Integrative Child and Adolescent Counsellor who draws on a wide range of approaches in working holistically with children and young people. I am rooted in a humanistic and client-centred way of working that strives to empower a person’s full potential. I am also attachment-aware and trauma-informed, so my sessions aim to process past childhood experiences, relationships and connections to the wider family system which in turn supports growth, healing and insight for my clients in how their past impacts their present.
As well as talking through issues with my clients, I also encourage symbolic expression and communication through the use of art, music, drama and play. This helps my clients to creatively explore and make sense of their internal world, feelings and lived experiences which can connect them to a part of themselves that cannot be put into words.
Training, qualifications & experience
For the last fifteen years, I have been working and supporting children and young people with a wide range of complex needs and mental health issues, and I have always found a way to connect and communicate meaningfully. Over the years, I have set up therapeutic services in primary and secondary schools, children's care homes, psychiatric units and have ran various therapeutic projects for charities such as Mind, Allsorts, Barnardo’s, SENSE, Crisis skylight, Audio Active and other youth projects in Brighton and London. Alongside this, I have been running my own successful Private Practice business in Lewes.
I have a first class honours degree in Applied Psychology, and I qualified as an Integrative Child and Adolescent Counsellor from the Terapia Centre in London. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
