About me

Hello & welcome. Thanks for reading my profile.

If you are struggling with something in your life or in your relationships, I will accompany you with compassion, empathy, rigour, keen observation and light heartedness to help you feel safe enough to explore ways through.

Relationship Counselling

Relationships often aren't easy. They often are hard work, provoking our anxieties and bringing out parts of us that we don't like.  When trauma and neurodivergence are part of the mix, it can become bewildering to know what is going wrong.

I feel privileged to work alongside people in their relationships, LGBTQIA+ and not, to build safety and connection, resolve conflict without hurtful words, express and attend to needs, share responsibilities fairly, and rebuild trust.

I have experience working with :

  • repeating patterns of conflict
  • loneliness and isolation
  • the impact of infidelity
  • patterns of anger and shutdown
  • communication difficulties
  • relationships MOTs
  • parenting difficulties
  • opening up a relationship/non-monogamy
  • the end of a relationship
  • navigating separation & co-parenting

Working with Individuals

I offer a safe space to explore issues you are struggling with, be that something new or something you have been experiencing for some time.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Master's in Contemporary Relationships Studies (distinction) from Hull University (2025).

I have worked as a therapist with 16 to 25 years old impacted by abuse and also for Relate.

I currently work through Sheffield Central Counselling and also have my own private practice.

I hold professional memberships with COSRT & BACP.

Before training as a therapist, I worked in charities for over 20 years, supporting LGBTQIA+ young people and their families, as well as supporting individuals to navigate their way to safety after experiences of abuse.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

I work on a Monday and Thursday in premises that are wheelchair accessible. On a Friday, I work in a premises that is up one flight of wide stairs with a handrail.
