About me

FLEXIBLE ONLINE SESSIONS

I offer compassionate, confidential counselling online, providing a safe and flexible space where you can talk openly about whatever is bringing you to therapy.

I believe counselling is about having a space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted without judgement. Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, confusing or simply difficult to make sense of on your own. You may be struggling with something specific, or perhaps you just know that things don’t feel quite right. You don’t have to have all the answers before you begin.

My approach is warm, supportive and person-centred. I’ll work alongside you at your own pace, taking the time to understand your experiences and what you need from counselling. There’s no pressure to talk about anything before you feel ready, and sessions can be shaped around you rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Working online means counselling can fit more easily around your life, offering the flexibility to access support from a place where you feel comfortable and safe. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, life changes, stress, loss, or simply feeling stuck, you’re welcome to get in touch.

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, so I aim to make that first contact as easy and comfortable as possible. If you’d like to talk things through or see whether online counselling might be right for you, please feel free to get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and continue to develop my knowledge and skills through ongoing professional learning.

My approach is eclectic, which means I draw on different therapeutic ideas and approaches depending on you, your circumstances and what feels most helpful. I don’t believe counselling should be a rigid or one-size-fits-all experience.

Working online also gives us the opportunity to be creative together and find ways of working that feel comfortable and meaningful for you. We can explore what works best for you within a safe, supportive and flexible online space, always at your own pace.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I have a particular interest in creative and artistic approaches to counselling. Sometimes thoughts and feelings can be difficult to put into words, and creativity can offer another way to explore and express what’s going on. This might include imagery, drawing, writing or metaphor but only if it feels right for you.

I aim to offer a warm, compassionate and flexible online space where you can feel safe to explore things at your own pace.

I offer a free 15-minute online chat before we begin counselling. This gives us a chance to meet, talk briefly about what you’re looking for and see whether we feel we’d be a good fit to work together. There’s no obligation to continue it’s simply an opportunity to get a feel for whether counselling with me feels right for you.
