About me

Everyone has a different reason as to why they are seeking counselling. You could be feeling anxious, unable to cope, distressed, have low self-esteem or just want to be heard. No two people are exactly the same. We are all individuals. We are all unique.

My name is Ellen, and I am a person-centred counsellor offering 1-2-1 counselling sessions. I offer a confidential, safe environment where you can speak freely, without judgment.

I currently offer sessions facilitated either online (Zoom), walk and talk or via the phone, to over 18’s. Your sessions can be either long or short term the choice is yours.

I am unable to offer advice and I will never dictate what you should do or how you should deal with a situation, that is not what I am here for. I am here to listen to you and provide you with an unbiased ear. I aim to provide you with an environment where you feel safe and comfortable enough to be able to explore your thoughts and feelings. At all times, your counselling is led by you.

I understand that you may be nervous, it takes courage to seek counselling and even more courage to make the initial contact with a potential counsellor. Your reasons for seeking counselling may already be causing you some distress, I understand this and will do everything that I can to make you feel at ease.

Before your counselling sessions start, I offer a free 15 (or so) minute telephone assessment. Here you will have the opportunity to ask me any questions and it will also give you the opportunity to decide if I am the right counsellor for you. Once you have decided that I am, we will make an appointment for your first session, at a date and time that is convenient for us both.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
