About me

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” Marcel Proust.

You might be here because something in your life isn’t working. Perhaps you can’t put your finger on it, or perhaps you know exactly what your struggle is.

Whatever brings you, therapy with me is deeply relational. I want to work with clients who are willing to fully engage with the process. You don’t need to have it figured out, but you do need to be curious. If there’s reluctance, we’ll be curious about that too. Your defences and ways of coping are important; we’ll get to know them well as we learn how they work. So you gain more choice in how you respond.

We work within our relationship, with curiosity for your brightest and darkest parts. This is powerful practise for how you relate to yourself and others outside of therapy. Healing isn’t something I do to you. It is a process that we co-create.

The therapeutic space I hold is reflective, attuned and transformative

When you first meet me, I want you to feel seen and heard, as you are. After working with me, I want you to have a deeper and wider sense of who you are. More grounded, more alive, with trust that you can meet all that life brings. To feel able to reach your potential for fulfilment and joy, with wisdom to heed your heart and draw strength from your relatedness to yourself and others.

Together we might explore your dreams, your body’s wisdom, your relationships, the symbols that show up in your life, your experience of family, ethnicity, culture, gender and all the other groups you are part of. We’ll explore how labels support or limit you, including psychiatric diagnoses. We’ll follow what’s meaningful, even if it’s subtle. We’ll make space for what’s been pushed aside.

This work can feel messy, tender, frightening, odd, and surprising. It can also feel joyful and fun. You can feel hopeful and sure the therapy is working, yet at other times doubtful. Real change takes time and happens in cycles. Sometimes old patterns return just when you thought you’d left them behind. But each time we work through them, there’s movement towards healing. A cycle of emotional resonance, regulation and self-acceptance.

Therapy can change the way you see yourself and the world.

It takes courage to start therapy. If your heart says yes, even a quiet yes, we can have a free call to talk about what you’re looking for and see if it feels right to work together. It's fine if you decide I’m not a good fit, because what's important is for you to find a therapist who is. It is the relationship that heals.
