About me
Hi, I’m Elizabeth
I'm an integrative counsellor, offering thoughtful, compassionate, evidence-based counselling, trauma therapy, and career counselling.
I work relationally to build a genuine connection with you from the very first session. I offer openness, curiosity and compassion to help you explore the challenges that have brought you to counselling. I aim to create an environment that helps you navigate what can feel like a daunting and vulnerable process.
I believe self-understanding is the first step to healing and making meaningful change. And so, as we explore your experiences, I will offer therapeutic insights - not with psycho-babble or therapy speak - but in a way that helps you truly deepen your understanding and awareness of how past experiences have shaped you and might be impacting you in the here and now.
Through untangling past events, unhelpful thoughts, behavioural and relational patterns, we nurture the inner resources that ease the difficult emotions tied to struggles like low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, stress or unresolved trauma.
I support you in building a sense of self, empowerment, and resilience, so that you can manage the challenges that come your way and live with purpose and authenticity.
If you'd like to know more about me or my therapeutic approach, please do get in touch. I’m happy to have an introductory conversation to talk through any questions you may have and your hopes for therapy. Or head over to my website to learn more.

My Background
Before training as a counsellor and establishing Elysia Counselling Services, I was a senior leader in global corporate organisations, giving me a deep insight into the pressures of high-demand environments. I draw on my experience to support clients navigating workplace challenges such as impostor syndrome and burnout. I also support professionals in developing their professional sense so they can thrive in their careers.
Training, qualifications & experience
My approach is integrative and relational, drawing on the three complementary modalities I trained in - Person-Centred Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Transactional Analysis - together with trauma-informed practice, solution-focused and cognitive-behavioural therapies, and real-life insights. This enables me to blend approaches, tailoring therapy to your unique needs and working at a pace that is right for you.
I trained at the highly regarded Metanoia Institute. My qualifications are:
- BSc (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling
- Level 6 Clinical Diploma in Humanistic Counselling
- Level 2 Adult Safeguarding Awareness
I also regularly undertake supervision and professional development to ensure my work remains ethical, reflective, and effective.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

We can explore how I might be able to help you and get a sense of whether working together feels right.
I'd be pleased to find a time that works for you.
