About me
My name is Elizabeth, I am a professionally qualified counsellor. I have a friendly, compassionate, and empathetic listening style.
I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk freely and explore any concerns, worries or difficult issues, whether they are from your past or present.
Together we can work on how these impact on your life. We can explore options, strategies, and skills/tools that can encourage new ways of thinking and behaving to help resolve them and promote positive change.
Taking the next steps can be challenging, our initial session will allow us to look at what has brought you to counselling and the area/s you wish to explore. It allows us to get to know each other, so that you, the client can decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
The sessions focus on building a therapeutic relationship that is built on trust and rapport.
My knowledge and skill have developed through my therapeutic work on placement for my counselling course and voluntary hours at MIND, in private practice, and through my work with a Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service.
I provide an individual approach for your unique preferences and needs based on your view of yourself, others, and the world.
Reflecting our views, opinions, thoughts, feelings, core values, core beliefs, and behaviour can help us address and work on change in areas that are preventing us from moving forward and achieving our full potential.
Untangling experiences that have been difficult, painful, and challenging is a process and a journey that enables you to make sense of the situation.
You may be wondering if counselling is the right step for you, whether talking to a stranger about your life will help you.
I made the difficult decision to start the counselling journey to make sense of my life. The positive experience led me to re-train and change my career, to become a counsellor to enable me to support others in the way I was supported.
