About me

Welcome to my profile page and well done for taking a first step towards dealing with your problems.

I provide a relaxed, confidential, non-judgemental environment to explore the issues that are affecting you and help you find ways to express yourself and your private fears, woundings and situations. My aim is to walk with you and assist you to unravel your thoughts, challenge your perceptions, reveal possibilities, and strive to manage the circumstances we can find ourselves in from time to time, as well as those difficult dilemmas, tragedies and traumatic experiences that can sweep us off our feet.

I provide a variety of counselling approaches including CBT and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) - Recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence for the treatment of trauma and PTSD. I have over 10 years of extensive experience in helping those suffering from depression, anxiety disorders, bereavement, addiction, low self-esteem, trauma -  including PTSD, separation and divorce, family and work issues and also those who have experienced any realm of abuse or who feel unable to cope with the pace of life, and feel stressed or over-whelmed. Often we can find it difficult to verbalise what is causing us distress, it is my job to help you uncover the root source and solutions.

I have a humorous, direct approach to my clients, coupled with a friendly, genuine empathy, creating a bespoke helping model of management strategies and techniques to help you reach your full potential.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
