About me

 Who do I work with;

I am trained to work with individuals, couples, families, kinship relationship, groups and organisations who are finding life and relationships difficult.

My Psychotherapeutic Approach: Systemic psychotherapy takes a wide lens to any difficulty, moving focus away from ideas of an individual embodying a problem and looking at ways in which the wider systems within which they live influence and constrain development and solution of difficulties. Systems of beliefs, values, relationships, culture and society and others all contribute to the way in which we live and understand our lives. In particular Systemic Psychotherapy will focus on how an individual, family or group’s personal relationships, behaviour patterns, and life choices are interconnected with the issues they face in their life.  For many, systemic psychotherapy is experienced as empowering and provides insight into how patterns established throughout life are now found to be limiting their options, relationships, experiences and mental health. It is also a psychotherapeutic approach that enhances resilience to future events, problems and/or distress.

The kind of issues I work with:

  • Relationship difficulties - these include family, friendship, work and romantic relationships, abuse & trauma
  • Family and Parenting issues including co-parenting, separation, divorce, child/parent mental health, behavioural issues, child to parent violence, teenage issues, death/grief.
  • Mood & mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety
  • Identity and Self-Esteem issues
  • Health issues such as stress, sleep difficulties, chronic or terminal illness, and life changing illnesses and their impact
