About me
I am a person centred counsellor and supervisor with experience of working in various settings and with a variety of issues.
I am down to earth and offer a genuine, non judgemental space where clients can explore their experience and make sense of their world. I enjoy working with various issues and I have a special interest in long term mental health issues, particularly hearing voices and self harm, and I currently manage a service, working with clients with these types of experiences, which I co founded in 2011.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and watching rubbish on T.V. I am also an animal lover and have recently begun keeping amphibians.
I believe that counselling should be accessible to people whatever their financial situation so I offer a sliding scale on my fees.
I can offer an initial 20 minute meeting at no cost which will give you a chance to decide whether I'm the right person for you at this time.
Training, qualifications & experience
I was awarded my Post Grad Diploma in Person Centred Counselling in 2010 and I completed my counselling supervisor training in 2015, both at Strathclyde University.
I completed my MSc in 2015
I have completed advanced professional training on a wide variety of issues.
I also deliver training.
Member organisations
COSCA is the professional body for counselling and psychotherapy in Scotland, and seeks to advance all forms of counselling and psychotherapy and the use of counselling skills by promoting best practice and through the delivery of a range of sustainable services. COSCA Counsellor Accreditation is a pathway to entry onto the UKRC. It is a requirement of all individual and organisational members of COSCA to abide by its Statement of Ethics and Code of Practice and be accountable to the Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Counselling Supervision £65 per hour
Executive supervision available at £65 per hour, useful for those working in the caring professions who are seeking external support to enhance their practice.
Block booking reduction available for all services offered - 6 sessions for the price of 5 (payable in advance).
Reductions available for counselling and supervision for students and those on a low income.
**Cancellations can be made until 24 hours before appointment.
Non attendance will be charged at full price unless cancelled 24 hours in advance.
Cancellations within 24 hours will be charged at 50%.
