About me

I view therapy as a journey of healing, growth and discovery. Alongside my private practice, I work as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS and as a lecturer and supervisor in academia, where I study childhood trauma and adult mental health. I have training in different therapy models, including schema therapy and compassion focused therapy, and offer integrative therapy to adults and adolescents. I am influenced by psychodynamic models, but also draw from systemic family therapy, cultural approaches and CBT (in particular "third wave", which connects how we think to how we feel and our relationship to our inner experiences).

People come to therapy for different reasons, and having a space to reflect, share, and experience difficult or confusing feelings is in itself a big part of psychotherapy. In our sessions, we will explore the reasons that brought you to therapy and identify or develop goals, exploratory or specific, that will guide the focus of our work together.

We might address feelings such as stress, panic, low self-worth, loneliness, or the impact of life transitions and relationship challenges. We might also explore and process the impact of difficult life events. Together, we will create a safe space to enable you to feel empowered and valued, coming closer to living a more fulfilling or connected life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over ten years of experiences of working in specialist mental health services in the UK and internationally. This has included community psychiatric services for children, families and adults,  specialist trauma centres and inpatient and community forensic services. Alongside my private practice, I currently work in community mental health, offering 1:1 individual and group psychological support, clinical supervision and consultation to colleagues from other disciplines. In addition, I am also a lecturer and collaborator of the University of London, teaching and supervising undergraduate and Masters students. My research on trauma has been published in leading international journals.

In addition to my undergraduate and post-graduate studies in Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Sciences, I have obtained a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

I have attended additional training in a range of approaches, including:

  • Trauma focused therapies (TF-CBT and narrative exposure therapy)
  • Schema Therapy
  • Transference Focused Psychotherapy
  • Mentalization Based Therapy
  • CBT informed interventions for children, young people and families
