About me
Welcome, I’m Eilidh.
I am a Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I offer counselling to adults and children from my therapy room in Melksham.
Life is rarely travelled without periods of difficulty. These may last for a day, a season, or what can feel like a lifetime. Sometimes the cause is obvious and rooted in the present; at other times, it may stem from experiences in the distant past. Whatever the cause, you may find yourself feeling depressed, anxious, overwhelmed by negative thoughts, or simply stuck and alone, unsure of what to do next.
Counselling provides a safe and supportive environment in which to work through these difficulties within a trusting therapeutic relationship. I offer a warm, accepting, non-judgemental, and confidential space where we can explore your thoughts and feelings together at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My aim is to create an environment where you can be yourself and feel truly heard.
I believe that each person's counselling journey should be as unique as they are. As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet the individual needs of each client. I work holistically, considering you as a whole person and your place within the wider world. The humanistic foundation of my work is rooted in the belief that every individual has the capacity for healing and growth, and that you are the expert in your own life.
My role is not to give advice or tell you what to do. Instead, I will walk alongside you as you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences within a compassionate and accepting relationship. Through this process, counselling can help you gain clarity, deepen self-awareness, and develop ways of coping with the challenges you face.
During our initial session, we will explore what has brought you to seek support at this time and what you hope to achieve through counselling.
I offer short-term, long-term, and open-ended counselling. Long-term and open-ended work can provide the opportunity to explore your personal history in greater depth. Together, we can look with curiosity and compassion at past experiences, helping you to understand patterns and beliefs that may be preventing positive change. Short-term work tends to be more focused on current difficulties and practical goals.
I understand that taking the first step and reaching out for support can feel daunting. Please be assured that you will be met with warmth, understanding, and acceptance.

Further information
I offer an initial consultation which will be free of charge, this will normally be conducted online or on the phone but can be face to face if that makes you more comfortable. This allows us to discuss what has brought you to seek counselling and for you to understand what to expect from the sessions. Most importantly it gives you some time to gauge whether I am the right therapist for you.
