About me

Hi! My name is Ed and I'm SO glad you're here.

Here's some good news - you don't have to face all of life's challenges alone. Therapy has the ability to help you and change your life. Maybe you're experiencing a wave of different, overwhelming emotions, facing challenge after challenge and you're not sure how you'll get through this? There is hope. Life can feel that little less overwhelming when we're able to talk to someone about our problems. Having someone listen to you without feeling judged can make a huge difference. Your voice is important.

I am a certified Integrative therapist, licensed through the NCPS. Therapy and counselling have been my number one passion for a long time, and I know first-hand the difference talking therapy can make to someone's life. Without my own personal therapy I wouldn't be where I am today. I love to help people by providing them with a space in which to be listened.

Maybe this is the first time you're really considering therapy, or maybe you're a seasoned professional looking to try someone new! Either way, I'm really glad you're here. Reaching out for help can be scary, but there are people who can help. The bravery shown in reaching out is the first step towards greater freedom in your life.

I am trained in a variety of different modalities including CBT, TA and Psychodynamic, although I tend to lean more towards a Person-Centred/Humanistic way of practice. If all of those words don't mean much to you, that's okay because the good news is that you are the most important person in the therapy room, and my practice is tailored around what we believe will work best for you.

I currently offer sessions online and in person, and if this is something you'd like to consider then I would love to hear from you!

Training, qualifications & experience

I've spent many years in and around pastoral work and therapeutic care, with experiences that have taken me across the globe at times! I have held voluntary roles helping to look after the mental wellbeing of larger groups and also individuals on a one-to-one basis, but the one-to-one interactions were where I fell in love with therapy. It takes a certain type of empathetic individual to want to sit and listen to people who are searching for help, and I realised pretty quickly that my passion in this area shouldn't be left dormant.

I've spent over one hundred hours voluntarily working with students and young people in order to further my studies, but I welcome clients of any age and demographic!

I currently hold a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, and am a registered member of the NCPS. I am committed to a minimum of thirty hours of CPD (Continuous Professional Development) per year, but to be honest my passion for this area of work will probably take me beyond that!
