About me
Hello and thank you for visiting my profile! I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist specialising in women's mental health, with particular expertise in perinatal mental health, trauma and anxiety. You might be struggling with anxiety, intrusive thoughts, OCD, burnout or trauma and want to find ways to feel better again. I also have many years clinical experience working in the NHS, most recently in perinatal services, supporting women through birth trauma, fertility difficulties, pregnancy, loss and motherhood. I can offer a safe space to explore what is going on for you and think together about ways we can help you.
You might not always know what you need from therapy, only that things have become too difficult to deal with on your own. I draw from many different therapeutic models including CBT, Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Compassion-focused and Trauma-focused approaches like EMDR and I use them to create an individual therapy experience for you.

Training, qualifications & experience
I trained as a Counselling Psychologist at the University of Surrey and have many years of experience working as a Senior Psychologist in the NHS. I specialise in trauma, anxiety and perinatal mental health issues.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

I am trained in a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches, including CBT, EMDR and Compassion-Focused Therapy but I also draw from Schema Therapy and psychodynamic therapy to create a therapy experience that is specific to your needs.
