About me

For those of you who may feel face to face therapy is not right for you, I offer secure online therapies using a variety of methods including telephone, chat-box, e-mail and video . Please make contact for further information or check out my website and head to the drop-down menu, Online Therapy.

Hi, my name is Donna Webb and I qualified as a counsellor in 2009.  I am a member of NCS (National Counselling Society) and BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) working closely to their ethical frameworks.  I am DBS (Disclosing & Barring Service) checked and I am insured to practice.

Are you constantly focussing in on yourself often disappearing down a rabbit hole of self dis-belief and self sabotage? Are your relationships, your career, your education or your health being effected because of your lack of confidence causing you to feel anxious and stressed leading you to withdraw from the world and leaving you with a sense of sadness or depression?

Maybe it is your relationship at home or work that is contributing to how you feel....are these relationships causing you to feel trapped, anxious and depressed? Being in a place of abuse can be hard to recognise and sometimes we need help to understand what is happening to us. I can offer you the understanding and a safe and nurturing space to gently explore this area in an empathic and non-judgemental way.

This may feel like an overwhelming time in your life but I can help you to shift these feelings.  I want you to feel comfortable and secure in your therapy, this will help you to enable yourself to explore what it is that may be contributing to how you see yourself in the world.

I work as an integrative counsellor, in a warm and empathic environment which allows you to feel accepted, encouraging your confidence to grow . Gently exploring you will be able to express what you are thinking and feeling and if at times you struggle we can work creatively to help you communicate how you experience your world and how this effects you.

Committing to therapy can feel daunting, that is why I offer a free initial session of 20/30 minutes to see how we get on and answer any questions or queries you may have.  I want you to feel safe and secure so you feel confident in your choice of therapist.

I have specialism and interest in working creatively with those who find it difficult to express themselves verbally.  Maybe you feel very disconnected from your feelings and struggle to express them.  Working creatively is a great way to allow you to explore your emotions in an expressive way without having to feel pressured into explaining through conversation.  Clients often surprise themselves how connected they are to their "story" once given the space to explore differently, finally having the ability to understand and to accept, building resilience and confidence.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
