About me

Hello, I'm Dr Donna Veal, a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist, BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and EMDR therapist.

I have over a decade of experience supporting adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, stress, and life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where people can explore difficulties, make sense of their experiences, and develop practical tools for change.

I integrate evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Counselling for Depression (CfD), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). This allows me to tailor therapy to the individual rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.

Alongside my clinical work, I have specialist interests in trauma, neurodiversity, attachment, grief and loss, and professional wellbeing. I also have experience working with autistic and ADHD clients and adapt therapy to meet individual needs.

I offer appointments online and in person from my consulting rooms in London N1.

Please note that initial enquiries may be received and responded to by my administrative assistant on my behalf. To protect your privacy, I recommend keeping initial emails brief and focusing on practical information such as your reason for seeking therapy, availability, and preferred contact details. More detailed personal information can be discussed directly with me during consultation or assessment.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
