About me
Helping You Navigate Life’s Challenges with Compassion and Clarity
Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by low moods, or stuck in patterns that seem impossible to break? Maybe you're struggling with relationship or family tensions, or feeling isolated in your experience of depression. If so, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to go through it alone.
My name is Donna, and I provide a safe, confidential space where you can explore what’s really going on beneath the surface. Whether you're dealing with persistent worries, feeling emotionally numb, or caught in difficult family dynamics, my approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and collaboration. I believe that healing begins when we feel truly heard and understood.
What I Can Help With:
Anxiety & Panic – Learn to calm the mind and regain a sense of control
Low Mood & Depression – Rediscover your sense of self and purpose
Family Issues – Navigate conflict, communication breakdowns, or generational patterns
Self-Esteem & Identity – Build resilience and a stronger connection with yourself
Life Transitions – Cope with change, loss, or uncertainty with support and clarity.
My Approach:
I work integratively, drawing from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy, and emotional coping skills based on a DBT model. But more than any technique, I focus on building a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel safe to be real and vulnerable.
You don’t have to have everything figured out to start. Whether you're seeking short-term support or deeper therapeutic work, I will meet you where you are—with compassion, curiosity, and no judgment.
Next Steps:
Reaching out is often the hardest part. If you're ready to take the first step toward feeling more grounded and in control of your life, I invite you to get in touch. We can start with a free initial consultation to see if we're a good fit.
If you want more information then please do not hesitate to contact me for a free 30-minute informal chat to determine if I am the right fit for your situation right now:
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and trauma specialist with a 1st degree in Integrative Counselling and a Foundation degree in Transactional Analysis.
As well as working in my private practice I also work part time for a charity that specialises in domestic and sexual abuse, additionally, I work for a college/university as their student counsellor. I also lecture on a counselling degree course.
I recognise that we are all different and one way of working will not suit all clients, which is why I choose to train as an Integrative counsellor. I can incorporate different elements to my practice which will include, but are not limited to, CBT techniques, Emotional Coping Skills incorporating a DBT model, Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Mindfulness techniques to match what my clients bring to session. I find working with Psych Ed tools to address the clients understanding and management of distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal ways of being, useful in managing trauma responses as we work from the core of the self and validate ourselves rather than looking for external validation.
To further enhance my practice I attend regular CPD (Continued Professional Development) programs in many different subject, many of which are related to trauma and emotional coping skills

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
