About me

I believe that we’re all unique and that there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ approach to therapy. Instead, my focus is on trying to understand and experience what it’s like to be you – what you may be struggling with, what questions you have, and where you’re at, so that I am able to support you and work through whatever may be worrying you. Therapy isn’t about fixing, but understanding what issues or experiences are causing you to struggle.

I have supported clients (age 18+) from a range of diverse backgrounds, with different needs and issues, whether they’ve been dealing with trauma, bereavement, loss, suicidal ideation, issues around gender and sexual identity, neurodiversity, anxiety, family relationships or just struggling with life’s ups and downs. What I try to offer is compassion, warmth, empathy, openness and honesty to my clients. I believe therapy can help empower you to find meaning and purpose, to understand and make sense of who you are, or what you are going through, as well as learn how to accept yourself without judgement.

What you can expect

I find that it helps to have an initial free 15 minute consultation to discuss and assess what has brought you to counselling, what your needs are and how I can support you, or you can contact me with any questions you may have about how I work and what I offer as a counsellor.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
