About me

Looking for support can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to navigate things on your own. My name is Deborah, and I work with adults and young people (16+), offering one-to-one therapy, both face-to-face and online, as well as small group sessions.

Whether you are dealing with constant worry, feeling overwhelmed by stress, or find yourself trapped in cycles of low mood and low self-esteem, I am here to help. I also provide a gentle, supportive space for those carrying the weight of grief, managing difficult emotions like guilt or shame, or feeling strained by relationship pressures.

How we will work together - much of my work uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Simply, CBT helps us look at the thought habits that keep you feeling stuck or overwhelmed. When we learn to spot and reframe those thoughts, it changes how you feel and behave, making big, scary problems feel much smaller and easier to handle.

Depending on what you need, I also bring in other flexible approaches focused on self-compassion and practical solutions.

What to expect - Healing starts with being genuinely heard. I offer a safe, confidential space where you can bring your honest self without judgement. Together, we'll make sense of what you're going through and build realistic, practical tools so you can feel back in control of your life.

Next steps - I offer a free 30-minute informal introductory call before our first meeting. We'll talk through what you're facing, answer your questions, and see if working together feels like the right fit. Just bring yourself, and we will figure it out together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
