About me
Perhaps you are experiencing challenges in your life, and considering if therapy might help you? If you are wondering if talking to someone other than friends or family could be useful, then I agree.
I offer a safe and confidential environment in which to reflect, consider and explore what is happening for you. Here, you will be listened to without judgement and given space to make sense of the pain, difficulties, and stresses you may be experiencing.
YOU are an accumulation of your life’s experience; you are unique. I work integratively, which means I merge elements of humanistic and existential psychological knowledge and practice, so that our approach to your therapy, best fits with your mental, physical, and emotional health.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Masters Degree in integrative psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute and have worked in a number of counselling services in addition to private practice. As a registered member of the UKCP, I fully comply with its code of ethics.
Integrative psychotherapy draws together current research and methodology about the process of suffering, healing and change from different, and interrelated psychological and philosophical thinking. I make it my business to stay up-to-date with current research including developments in somatic therapy and neurobiology.
People that have worked with me, tell me that I am containing, warm and calm; I hope to provide these qualities for you too.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
