About me
I am an integrative psychotherapist and clinical supervisor with over 10 years experience of working in the Brighton & Hove area. I am a fully insured registered member of the BACP and adhere to their code of ethics.
I prize the importance of building a warm and non-judgemental relationship with my clients, enabling them to feel heard, understood and valued. I passionately believe that this is the precursor to any meaningful therapy taking place. Whilst attending to the quality of our relationship, I work integratively, which means that I draw on a number of therapeutic approaches that are appropriate to my client's needs and the issues that they wish to explore.
Alongside talking therapy, I recognise the importance of the client's physical body, spirituality and imagination. Where appropriate, I invite opportunities to work creatively to explore a presenting issue or relational problem.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a diploma in Integrative counselling (Wealden Psychology Institute). I also hold a diploma in clinical supervision and a further diploma in adolescent and secondary school counselling (Metanoia Institute).
Alongside my work in private practice, I have worked as a therapist in a variety of different clinical settings including: substance misuse, secondary schools & sixth form colleges and Mankind UK, a Sussex based charity supporting male survivors of sexual abuse.
In my supervisory work, I have supported colleagues who specialise in working with survivors of sexual abuse, trainee counsellors, the Hangleton and Knoll Project and the Young Carers Centre.
Since qualifying in 2014, I have completed further CPD / training in:
- Working with clients around substance misuse
- Working with complex trauma
- Attachment Theory
- Working as an embodied therapist
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Polyvagal Theory
- Narcissism and working with the children of narcissists
- Working with Adults with ADHD and Autism
As part of my ongoing professional development, I have also completed regular trainings on safeguarding, suicide prevention training, working with race in the therapeutic relationship and Trans awareness training.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
