About me
I am a BACP registered (Accredited), psychotherapist and counsellor, offering long or short term talking therapy in Leeds City Centre.
I understand that searching for a therapist can be daunting. You may wonder whether you might feel able to be completely open with a stranger. If you are feeling stuck and need someone to listen without judgement, I provide a confidential, safe and welcoming space for you to explore what is troubling you. I am a warm, empathic and reflective therapist. I would hope that we would build a trusting relationship enabling you to work towards your therapeutic goals, with the aim of getting to the root of your issues.
I have experience in working with a range of issues including stress, anxiety, depression and relationship issues. I am experienced in working with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds and working with people of varying ages.
How I Work:
I integrate different ways of working with each individual to suit their unique needs. Working at a pace that is right for you, we may explore your past relationships and experiences and how they might be impacting on you in the present. We can think about how you function in relationships, reflecting on any unhelpful patterns of thoughts, expectations and behaviours which might be getting in the way of you achieving closeness with others and gaining happiness.
What to Expect in Your First Session:
The first session will give you the opportunity to experience whether you feel you would like to work with me with no obligation to agree follow-up sessions. We can discuss your hopes, expectations and set goals for therapy.
I am also very happy to have an initial chat over the telephone with you first at no cost, before agreeing to arrange a first session.

Member organisations
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
