About me

When life becomes unbearably heavy and you’ve been coping alone for longer than you’d like to admit — therapy can offer a steady place to get the support you need. I’m a Level 7 BACP-registered counsellor and psychotherapist (MSc) and specialise in helping adults navigate grief, traumatic bereavement and the emotional impact of difficult life events. Alongside this, I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, stress and emotional burnout. Whether you're coping with the death, illness or declining health of a loved one, or struggling with a particularly difficult chapter in your life such as a relationship breakdown or traumatic event, I offer a calm, trusting and supportive space where you don't have to carry it alone.

Many of the people I work with come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck or disconnected, unsure how to move forward, or simply not feeling like themselves anymore. They often know something needs to change, but don't know where to begin. This is where therapy can help. I listen carefully to what you're going through, try to understand the world from your perspective and help you move towards greater clarity, resilience and emotional wellbeing.

If any of this resonates, send me a short message. I reply within 24 hours, and we can arrange a free 20‑minute call to see whether we feel like a good fit.

What I Can Help With

Whilst I have specialised training in grief, loss and bereavement, I also help clients with a range of other difficulties.

I support adults across the UK with:

  • Grief and Bereavement
  • Traumatic and Sudden Loss / Complicated Grief
  • Trauma / Childhood Trauma / Abuse
  • Anxiety, Overwhelm and Emotional Exhaustion
  • Depression, Low Mood, Feeling Stuck or Disconnected
  • Low Self-Worth and Confidence
  • Relationship or Family Strain
  • Major Life Transitions
  • Work-Related Stress, Anxiety and Burnout

Who I work well with:

I often work with people who are used to coping alone or have carried heavy feelings for years. This includes men who find it difficult to talk about emotions or feel pressure to “stay strong”women who often put others first and struggle to prioritise their own wellbeing, and high-functioning individuals who appear "fine" on the outside.

I also work well with individuals who want to understand themselves more deeply and need help setting boundaries with others, by making links between past and present, and begin shifting long‑standing patterns or habits that no longer serve them. Whether you’re seeking clarity, empowerment, or a different way of relating to yourself and others, we can explore that together at a pace that feels right for you.

How I work

Sessions are a space where you can slow down, untangle what's been weighing on you and make sense of your experiences without judgement.

Therapy with me is collaborative and grounded. You don’t need to prepare anything or know what to say — many clients begin with “I’m not sure where to start,” and that’s completely okay. If opening up feels unfamiliar, uncomfortable or long overdue, this is a space where you can begin to feel heard and supported. Sometimes, when people finally feel safe and understood, they find themselves speaking about things they have never said out loud before. We go at your pace. I work integratively, which means I use different therapeutic approaches to support the work we do together. You can read more about my approach below.

Training, qualifications & experience

My therapeutic approach

I work integratively, drawing from:

  • Person‑Centred Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Psychodynamic Therapy
  • Trauma‑informed practice
  • Attachment‑based approaches
  • Compassion-focused and Acceptance-based approaches

Different approaches can be helpful at different times. Some sessions are reflective and exploratory; others are more structured and practical. For example, after a bereavement you may need space to process your feelings and make sense of your loss, whereas anxiety or work-related stress might benefit from more practical strategies and tools. If you are struggling with relationship difficulties we might explore patterns of communication and attachment. Together, we find an approach that feels most helpful for you, meaning that therapy is always tailored to your needs.

  • MSc in Psychological Therapy
  • BSc in Counselling Psychology
  • BACP Registered Psychotherapist (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
