About me

Hello, I'm Danielle.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious or depressed? Is something weighing on you, leaving you struggling to find solid ground? Whatever is going on for you, you may be looking for somewhere you can talk openly about what’s happening in your life. Finding a counsellor who feels right for you matters.

You may know exactly what you want help with, or you may not be quite sure. Perhaps you’re feeling pressure to look like you’re fine when things feel very different on the inside.

I offer in-person counselling close to the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells, with daytime and some evening availability, free parking, and online sessions too. I also offer a free initial call so we can talk about what you’re looking for and whether working together feels right.

My approach is integrative, drawing mainly on person-centred and psychodynamic therapy, with elements of CBT and coaching where appropriate. We can take the time to understand what’s happening, what may sit underneath it, and what feels important to you.

I also work with people living with Type 1 diabetes, as well as those affected by T1D through someone in their life. Counselling can offer a space to explore living with the condition, its daily demands, and the emotional impact it may have on different areas of your life.

Alongside this, I bring many years of experience from the creative and performing arts, and understand some of the pressures that can come with performance, visibility, comparison and having your sense of self tied closely to the work.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
