About me

Welcome

Hi, I’m Dani, a warm and empathic counsellor offering counselling to adults based in Bristol (although I work with clients online across the UK). Regardless of location, I aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment where you can talk openly and confidentially about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, without fear of judgement. It is my personal belief that feeling truly heard and accepted can be a powerful part of our emotional healing and personal growth.

I support clients seeking help with many challenges, some of which are listed below:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Panic Attacks
  • Overwhelm
  • Relationships and family challenges
  • Low mood
  • Depression
  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Bereavement, loss and grief
  • Trauma (past or recent)
  • Shame, guilt, or feeling “stuck”
  • Ill health (yours or others)
  • Life changes and uncertainty

This list is not exhaustive. If you would like to know whether I can support you, please do get in touch to see whether counselling is right for you or if what you are experiencing isn’t listed.

What to Expect from Counselling

Firstly, I want to acknowledge the step you’ve taken in seeking support. I recognise that reaching out isn’t always easy and I appreciate that choosing a counsellor can be tricky and confusing, so if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

To understand more about how I work; how I may be able to support you; and what counselling sessions with me might look like; I have added some information below.

“We will work at your pace; there’s no pressure to go in-depth straight away.”

Counselling provides a space that is entirely yours. You are free to bring whatever feels important to you, whether that’s something specific or a general sense that something doesn’t feel quite right. For example, you may be experiencing anxiety or overwhelm and would like to explore ways in which to alleviate this; or you may be someone who is struggling with the emotional burden of grief, loss or relationship difficulties.

It is my belief that by building a counselling relationship based on trust, integrity, empathy and understanding, we can work together in helping you to heal and feel empowered.

In our sessions, you can expect:

  • A confidential and safe environment
  • A non-judgemental and supportive relationship
  • Space to talk openly at your own pace
  • Gentle exploration of thoughts, feelings, and patterns
  • Support in making sense of your experiences

But ultimately, your wellbeing will always be at the heart of our work. You decide what to share, how much to share, and when to share it.

Whatever you are facing right now, I am here, I see you, and I will be there for you as you work towards your counselling goals.

“Dani has been amazing helping me through my thoughts and I wouldn’t be in a better place without her. Thank you so much. Amazing!”

My Approach

I am an integrative counsellor, which means I draw on different counselling approaches to suit my individual client, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, and Transactional Analysis (TA) approaches, however my work is grounded in a person-centred and relational approach, meaning I focus on building a trusting relationship where you feel safe, valued, and understood. I believe that healing can happen through connection, understanding, and reflection; and given this environment, people have the capacity for growth and change.

I won’t tell you what to do or give direct advice. Instead, I will support you in exploring your thoughts and feelings, helping you gain clarity, insight, and a deeper understanding of yourself.

Sessions: Sessions are 50 minutes, although you may end them any time you wish

Frequency: Weekly at the same time

Duration:  I offer an ‘as long as wanted’ approach, which means that you will decide when the sessions come to an end. Some clients work with me for a few sessions, and others have been clients for several months. We can review this together as we go; there is no right or wrong length of time, it really does depend on you, your circumstances, and your wishes.

Current Availability:  As of April 2026, I have availability for online sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesday mornings and Saturday mornings, using Google Meet as the online platform, but can offer telephone counselling if this is preferred.  I am currently at capacity for in person sessions, so can only offer online sessions for the coming few months. However, I will update this section if/when this changes.

I offer a free initial 15 minute video or telephone call. This is a great opportunity to briefly discuss what brings you to counselling and to get to know each other before you pay for any sessions, however there is no obligation to continue.

About Me

Before becoming a counsellor, I gained experience across a range of industries, including retail, hospitality, administration, and most recently education. Although I enjoyed this work,  I felt that I could offer something more and so began training to become a counsellor.

In my spare time I really love cuddles with my cat, Ruby – oh and my family!  I love going for walks in nature, whether that’s the countryside, the woods, the coast or the local park. I also enjoy reading and whenever I can, I love going to the movies.

What Happens Now?

Thank you for taking the time to read through this information. Taking the first step can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you would like to have a free chat to find out whether I am the right counsellor for you, you can email me directly via the Counselling Directory page.

I wish you the very best on your journey!
