About me
Ever tell yourself you're a piece of shit?
Maybe those aren't the exact words.
Maybe yours sound more like:
"I'm not good enough."
"What's wrong with me?"
"Why can't I get it together?"
"Everyone else seems to know how to do life except me."
I've heard those thoughts hundreds of times.
To try and quieten those voices, some of us find ourselves drinking too much, using too much (chems or other drugs), engaging in compulsive sex and porn. Or people-pleasing, perfectionism and throwing ourselves into relationships that never seem to work. Or at the extreme end, some of us think about, or attempt, the ultimate escape from it all.
If any of that feels painfully familiar, you're not alone.
I've lived it too. And so have many of the men and LGBTQ+ people I’ve worked with.
But today, that’s not my life. It no longer has to be yours.
I invite you to imagine instead.
No longer feeling like you need to use or drink.
Having the kind of sex you really want to have.
Waking up without that constant voice telling you you're a waste of space.
Being able to be with difficult feelings instead of having to escape them.
Trusting your own judgement and making decisions that are right for you.
Letting go of “perfect” - that good enough really is good enough.
Choosing relationships that nourish you rather than drain you.
It’s my experience that healing happens through relationship - the relationship between myself and yourself. Therapist and client. Two humans.
My approach is that shame underpins how we see ourselves today, and that its seeds were sown in childhood. We learnt it from the world around us when we didn’t know better.
In turn, our unhealthy behaviours are ways we adopted to try not to feel that sharp stab of pain that shame brings. Though try as we might, the shame persists. Because shame loves secrecy.
And it’s my belief that it dies in the light.
To create that light, we’ll build a space for you that is safe. A space for you where you will know being seen, understood, and accepted without judgement. You are in charge of the pace - we go where you want to go and at a rate that feels right for you. At times, I will invite you to take a detour into the past, but you’re in the driver’s seat and I’m sat there next to you holding the map. And as our journey unfolds, we’ll connect the dots between the life you've lived and the life you're living now.
And it's through that understanding that a new and different way of living becomes possible.
More About Me
I’m a therapist based in Bethnal Green, East London, working with men and LGBTQ+ people. My particular areas of interest include addiction and recovery, chemsex, codependency, shame, self-worth, relationship difficulties, and the impact of growing up in dysfunctional families.
Alongside my professional training and experience, I also bring lived experience of over 25 years of recovery, queer identity, and also being neurodivergent (ASD).
Training, qualifications & experience
Before moving into private practice, I worked within a 12-step drug and alcohol rehabilitation service in South London and with substance misuse teams in two London men's prisons. This experience gave me extensive experience supporting people struggling with addiction, recovery, relapse, shame, self-esteem, and the wider emotional and relational difficulties that often accompany substance use.
My work included individual therapy, group therapy, and facilitating psychoeducational workshops on addiction, recovery, mental health, relationships, boundaries, and emotional wellbeing.
Today, I work primarily with men and LGBTQ+ clients experiencing addiction, chemsex, codependency, shame, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and the lasting impact of growing up in dysfunctional families.
Alongside my professional training, I also bring lived experience of recovery, queer identity, and neurodiversity (ASD), which informs my understanding of what it can feel like to navigate the world feeling different, disconnected, or not enough.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
