About me

I work with people who are carrying something they haven't been able to say out loud - in their work, their relationships, or their sense of who they are. Many of my clients are high-functioning and outwardly successful; some are navigating identity or significant life transitions; others are struggling with addictive behaviours or substances. What they share is a need for a space that is genuinely containing, non-judgmental, and equal to the complexity of their lives.

My background is unusual. Before training as a psychotherapist, I had a senior career in international business - at Deutsche Bank, Tesco, and IHG. I understand from the inside what it means to operate under real commercial pressure, to manage others while managing yourself, and to keep functioning when things are quietly falling apart. That experience shapes how I work: I don't need things explained to me that most therapists have never encountered.

I trained at the Tavistock Centre and hold an MSc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy as well as an MSc in Organisational and Social Psychology from the LSE. I am a full member of the British Psychoanalytic Council and a registered member of the BACP. I currently work as Head of Clinical Supervision at a specialist substance misuse charity.

I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy - open-ended or time-limited - and specialist recovery coaching for people wanting to move away from addictive substances or behaviours. Sessions are available in person in Angel and Fitzrovia, and remotely via Zoom.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BPC
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

My practice includes men navigating identity, pressure, and complexity - including questions of sexuality, mental health, and the particular kind of isolation that high performance can create. I also work with people managing ADHD or ASD traits, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, bereavement, and the aftermath of trauma.

If any of this sounds like where you are, I'd welcome a conversation about whether we might be a good fit.
