About me

I am a BACP registered Psychotherapist, and I have an integrative approach to Counselling and Psychotherapy. This means I am trained in a variety of modalities such as Psychoanalysis, Cognitive, Existential, and Person-Centred. This allows me to tailor an approach that is specific to your needs and I approach every client as unique.  I fully believe that there is 'no one size fits all' and what my integrative approach allows me to do is to work in a way that is most beneficial to you.

If you need help, it is ok. You are not broken, there is not something inherently wrong with you. We have all suffered some sort of trauma in our lives (this is not always what you may consider a major traumatic event) and there is a great need to process and heal from the impact these have had on our lives.

Personally, I believe, most importantly, my clients need to feel seen, heard and understood, in order for them to understand themselves better and feel more empowered to make positive changes in their life.  What I can offer you is a warm, safe, confidential space to be able to talk openly about what is bothering you.  Together, we can work through any emotions and thoughts you may have in greater depth to really get to the bottom of it and to help facilitate the change you want to see in your day to day life.

I put great emphasis on what happens relationally in our sessions and how this plays out in the relationships you have outside of the therapy room. Here, we can gain a better understanding of how you see the world and the people in your life, as well as facilitating growth and healing from past relationships that have had a negative impact on you.

Due to my own experiences in life, my work has led me to focus closely on childhood trauma, attachment theory, and the anxiety this can lead to in adolescence and adulthood.

As well as working with adults in private practice, I also work within a secondary school and my primary focuses here are anxiety,  understanding ASD, OCD, and LGBTQ+ clients transitioning.

I work in a non-discriminative manner that is culturally and LGBTQ+ affirmative.

If you feel that I may be the therapist for you, please do get in touch. I offer a free initial consultation, and this allows us to have a chat and see if we can work together in order to help you.

I offer face to face and online therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
