About me
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist working relationally with clients of all ages. I understand that our experiences, particularly those that are painful, confusing, or overwhelming, can shape how we feel about ourselves, how we relate to others, and how we move through the world. Early relationships, trauma, and loss often leave lasting emotional traces, sometimes showing up in ways that are difficult to make sense of.
In therapy, I offer a steady, attuned, and non-judgemental space where these experiences can be explored safely. You do not need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Together, we think about how past and present may be connected, helping you or your child to better understand patterns in thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. This understanding can support meaningful change, emotional growth, and a stronger, more secure sense of self.
I work at a pace that feels right for each individual, following what feels most important in the moment. My approach is thoughtful, reflective, and grounded in creating a space where clients feel seen, heard, and understood. I approach each person’s story with care, curiosity, and respect.
My practice is based in a quiet residential setting with easy on-road parking. The therapy room is designed to feel calm, warm, and containing, with creative materials available for children and young people who may express themselves more comfortably through play or drawing.
I offer face-to-face and online sessions in a private, secure, and confidential space. I aim to create the same sense of safety and containment virtually, so that clients feel able to speak freely, explore their emotions, and feel fully supported.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist specialising in work with children, adolescents and young adults up to the age of 26. I completed my MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy with Children and Adolescents at Birkbeck, University of London, and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I have substantial clinical experience across a range of settings, including child protection services, local authority provision, and therapeutic organisations. I have worked extensively with children and families experiencing complex emotional and relational difficulties, including trauma, neglect, attachment disruptions, anxiety, low mood, and behavioural challenges.
Alongside my therapeutic practice, I have undertaken parenting assessments within court proceedings. This work has strengthened my understanding of family dynamics, risk, and the lasting impact of early relationships on a child’s development.
I currently work as a therapist within a local authority, supporting children, young people and families within complex systems. I offer a consistent, containing and reliable therapeutic space to explore thoughts, feelings and experiences. My approach is grounded in psychodynamic thinking, with a focus on unconscious processes, early relational experiences, and patterns that may be repeated in the present.
I am committed to maintaining high professional standards through ongoing training and receive regular clinical supervision in line with BACP ethical guidelines.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
The first session is an opportunity to connect, explore what brings you to therapy, and consider whether the way I work feels like a good fit. Many clients arrive feeling anxious, uncertain, or overwhelmed, and this is completely natural. I aim to offer a relational, grounding, and containing presence from the outset, creating a space where it feels safe to be honest, curious, and vulnerable.
We will begin by exploring your experiences, what feels difficult, and what you hope to gain from therapy. I take a gentle and conversational approach to assessment, developing an understanding of your needs while keeping the focus on what feels most important to you in the moment. For parents or carers, part of the session involves thinking together about how therapy can best support the child or young person.
I see past trauma as part of your story, not a definition of who you are. It can leave lasting traces in how we feel, relate, and make sense of the world, traces that can be understood, held, and worked through within a safe therapeutic relationship. By acknowledging and exploring these experiences, we can begin to ease their impact and create space for growth and reflection.
