About me
Hi. My name is Daisy and I am a BACP accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist. My practice is based in central Market Harborough. I am fully insured and have an enhanced DBS certificate.
I am a qualified integrative and humanistic counsellor and psychotherapist offering face to face, video and phone sessions. I strive to create a safe, supportive and confidential space for us to focus on you and the difficulties you might be facing. People seek support for many reasons – it may be a change in relationship, anxiety, depression, trauma or a general sense of wanting change and being unsure how. I aim to support you to explore this at your own pace without judgement, putting you as the client at the centre. I aim to establish and maintain a healthy therapeutic relationship between us, working relationally and encouraging your autonomy and choice in the decisions you make.
I also offer EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing). EMDR is a structured form of psychotherapy that enables you to reduce the emotional distress associated with traumatic or disturbing memories. It is seen as an effective treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, addictions, and chronic pain. EMDR can reduce the vividness and emotional intensity of memories, allowing the brain to reprocess it in a healthier way. Unlike talking therapy, EMDR does not need detailed verbal description of the trauma; instead, it focuses on changing the way the memory is stored in the brain, which can relieve emotional distress, reformulate negative beliefs, and reduce physiological arousal

Experience:
I have worked in therapeutic settings for the past 20 years, primarily in public services, including forensic settings, NHS, charities and higher education supporting people who have multiple complex emotional and relational issues. This includes extensive experience of working with individuals and groups. I have experience of working privately with couples, individuals and young people who have accessed therapy for a range of reasons.
