About me

Welcome! I’m Craig, a psychodynamic psychotherapist offering therapy in Peckham, South East London and online.

In therapy, we will explore the unique complexities and subtleties of your way of being, creating space for discovery, challenge, change, and new possibilities.

I support clients with a range of concerns, including:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Relationship issues
  • Intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviours
  • Identity concerns
  • Trauma
  • Attachment issues
  • Shame
  • Guilt
  • Addiction
  • Eating disorders
  • Inner conflict

What is psychodynamic therapy?

Psychodynamic therapy helps you think about what may be operating outside of your conscious awareness and how this influences your feelings, thoughts, relationships, and ways of relating to the world. Together, we will explore patterns, conflicts, and emotional experiences that may feel difficult to understand or put into words. Through this process, new meanings can emerge, creating the possibility for change.

About Me

Originally from Scotland, I have lived in several countries before settling in London.

My own experience of psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy has been a huge influence on my decision to become a psychotherapist and continues to inform my understanding of the therapeutic process.

I regularly attend conferences, seminars, and training events to deepen my understanding of contemporary issues within psychotherapy, including gender, sexuality, race, class, and disability. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

My work is supervised in accordance with UKCP and BACP accreditation standards.

What can i expect in the intro consultation?

The consultation is an opportunity for us to think about whether we are well-suited to work together. I will invite you to talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from the process. I will likely ask clarifying questions to begin to understand your experience. I will explain how I work and what therapy together could look like and you can ask any questions you may have. There is no fee for this initial meeting and no obligation to continue.

What can i expect in a standard session?

Each week you will be invited to speak about whatever feels most important to you. This might involve current difficulties, relationships, recurring patterns, memories, dreams, thoughts, or feelings that have stayed with you. I will listen closely and offer observations and questions that may help deepen our exploration. Over time, we may begin to notice patterns and meanings that were previously outside awareness. As these become more understandable, new possibilities can emerge in how you experience yourself, your relationships, and your life. As our work develops, aspects of these patterns may also appear within the therapeutic relationship itself. This can provide a valuable opportunity to explore them together in a thoughtful and contained way.

If you would like to arrange an initial consultation or have any questions, please get in touch via email, WhatsApp, or text. I aim to respond promptly to enquiries and will usually reply the same day.

Training, qualifications & experience

I undertook a Master’s degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths University of London. My clinical experience includes working with NHS Talking Therapies through The Awareness Centre in Wandsworth and The Good Mental Health Company in Elephant and Castle. Before this, I completed a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Psychology and a certificate with Counselling & Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA). I am currently undertaking further on-going training with The Guild of Psychotherapists in psychoanalytic work. I am an honorary psychotherapist at the reduced-fee clinic of The Guild of Psychotherapists.

I am an individual member with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and subscribe to the BACP Ethical Framework.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
