About me

I am a fully qualified and accredited counsellor/psychotherapist.

I provide person-centred therapy for both adults and young people.

I have specialist training and experience in neurodiversity.

I offer a safe, caring, and confidential space to express your true thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment.

This is a supportive and collaborative approach that focuses on you as an individual rather than on a specific problem or diagnosis.

My aim is to see things from your perspective, to help you understand your feelings and beliefs, and for you to gain self-acceptance and confidence.

Empowering you to make choices that align with your values and well-being.

I offer both short and long-term therapy, face-to-face in Newquay, Cornwall and remotely throughout the UK via Microsoft Teams or WhatsApp.

If you want to take the next step it would be a telephone conversation, free of charge so that we can see if this feels like the right fit for you.

How I Work With Children & Young People

I was trained by one of Cornwall's leading charities for children and young people that specialise in neurodiversity. I continue working with them to this day alongside my private practice. I have worked in many Cornish schools and family hubs and have also been a group facilitator for the aforementioned charity for the last two years.

Self-acceptance is an essential aspect of personal growth, particularly for children and young people navigating the complexities of adolescence. This kind of talking therapy fosters self-acceptance and can significantly enhance confidence levels.

Through play, guided conversations, and supportive interactions, young individuals can explore their feelings, understand their strengths, and address the challenges they face.

By learning to embrace their unique identities, they develop a stronger sense of self-worth, which not only boosts their confidence but also equips them with the resilience needed to tackle life's obstacles.

Engaging in talking therapy allows them to voice their thoughts and emotions, thereby cultivating an environment where self-acceptance flourishes, paving the way for profound personal development.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work within their ethical framework. You can read more about their level of competences when working with children and young people here:

Training, qualifications & experience

I started my training in 2021 with arguably the best service/charity that provides specialist support to neurodiverse children and young people in Cornwall. I still work with them to this day alongside my private practice.

  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling CPCAB - Newquay
  • BSc (Honours) Counselling
  • Certificate of higher education in Psychology

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
