About me
Specialist in Eating Disorders, Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Relationships & Child and Adolescent Therapy
Welcome. I’m a qualified and experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist offering in-person sessions in Canvey Island, Essex, and online therapy across the UK. I provide specialist support for adults, couples, children and young people struggling with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
I offer a safe, confidential therapeutic space where together we can explore what may be troubling you, gain deeper self-understanding, and begin the process of lasting emotional change.
My Specialisms
I work with a wide range of issues, with particular expertise in the following areas:
Eating Disorders & Body Image Issues
Anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder (BED)
Emotional eating and food-related anxiety
Distorted body image
Underlying trauma, self-esteem and identity challenges
Psychodynamic therapy explores the emotional roots of disordered eating, helping you understand how past experiences may be influencing current behaviours and feelings.
Trauma & Complex Emotional Histories
Developmental and relational trauma
Childhood abuse or neglect
PTSD and emotional dysregulation
Shame, dissociation, or trust issues
Working at depth, I help clients process unresolved trauma and make sense of painful experiences within a consistent, trusting therapeutic relationship.
Anxiety, Stress & Emotional Overwhelm
Generalised anxiety
Panic attacks and phobias
Perfectionism and control
Emotional sensitivity or numbness
Together, we can understand the unconscious dynamics underlying your anxiety, and create space for new ways of relating to yourself and others.
Couples & Relationship Therapy
Communication breakdown
Intimacy and attachment difficulties
Conflict, resentment, infidelity
Parenting challenges or co-parenting
I support couples in exploring the deeper emotional dynamics of their relationship, helping you build insight, empathy, and healthier patterns of relating.
Child & Adolescent Therapy
As a specialist child and adolescent therapist, I work with young people experiencing:
Low mood or anxiety
Family or peer conflict
School-related issues or behavioural challenges
Eating or body image concerns
Identity, self-esteem, and emotional regulation
Using a developmentally appropriate psychodynamic approach, I provide a space where children and teenagers can safely explore their inner world and receive support tailored to their age and stage.
How I Work
My approach is based in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which seeks to understand how early experiences, unconscious processes, and relational patterns shape our present struggles. This deeper level of insight can lead to meaningful, long-term change—not just symptom relief.
I offer weekly sessions, either in-person or online, with a consistent, structured format to provide a secure therapeutic environment.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
