About me

Counselling with me isn't about fixing you, it's about helping you connect with your own inner resources, confidence, and self-trust: the things you can carry with you long after our sessions end.

I work with people who are navigating a variety of different experiences. Sometimes it's a specific event that's shaken things up. Other times it's a familiar pattern that keeps resurfacing, or a sense that life feels heavier or more confusing than you'd like it to be. Whatever's brought you here, whether that's feeling overwhelmed or a general sense of unease you can't quite name, is valid and welcome here. You might simply want space to think, reflect, or get to know yourself a little better.

I draw on different ways of working (including Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Psychodynamic approaches), shaped by what you bring and what's useful for you.

I have a particular interest in the transitions around perimenopause and menopause, and more broadly around questions of identity, though I work with a wide range of experiences, and you don't need to fit a specific category to work with me.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy (UWE Bristol) and am a registered member of the BACP.

I previously worked as a counsellor for Bristol Mind. Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked within Bristol's charity sector, for mental health organisations who worked in trauma-informed ways. This provided me with an understanding of the importance of approaching trauma with sensitivity and care. These experiences gave me a foundation which continues to shape how I work as a counsellor today.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
