About me
Are you struggling with anxiety or feeling overwhelmed/depressed?
Do you feel stuck in the same patterns and want to understand why? Have you been through a stressful life event that's left a lasting impact? These are all things that can be worked through together in therapy.
The world can feel like a chaotic place, especially right now and we all deserve space to feel heard and supported. You deserve to be thriving not just surviving.
I am a Psychodynamic Therapist. This mode of therapy focuses on early childhood experiences and the patterns we form there with a view to improving your current wellbeing.
It really matters, especially with the work I specialise in, that you find a therapist who you can feel supported and not judged by. Trust takes time and action, but I'd like you to find a therapist you can at least feel comfortable talking to. I would be happy to have a free conversation with you first so you can see how it feels.
My therapy room is based in St Albans City Centre and is an easy walk from the station.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have experience of working with complex mental health conditions, feelings of suicidality and trauma, particularly around women's lived experiences and grief.
I work in a Sex Positive way and work with the LGBTQ+ community. I also work from a Health at Every Size (HAES) perspective, with an Intuitive Eating approach towards healing from Diet Culture and self esteem issues.
I have experience of and enjoy working with other therapists and therapists-in-training.
Women's Experiences
As well as running a thriving private practice, I work in the Women's' Sector supporting survivors of sexual violence. I have in depth experience in supporting survivors of CSA and adult assault. Therapy can provide a space to start thinking about your experiences safely.
Grief
I have in depth-training, and lived experience, around complex grief; particularly death by suicide, death from murder and grieving a family member you had a difficult relationship with. In these events its understandable to feel stuck or overwhelmed with anger or numbness. I will work with you to help you find a path forwards.
I have professional qualifications in the following;
- Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Therapy (BACP Accredited)
- Diploma in Psychodynamic Therapy (BACP Accredited)
- Foundation in Psychodynamic Therapy (BACP Accredited)
- Member of the BACP (MBACP)
- MSc in Building Surveying (Hons)
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

During our first proper session we will spend a little time talking about your early experiences/family life. We will then think together about what's bringing you to therapy and make a plan of how we can work together.
