About me
I am a counsellor and psychotherapist, trained at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy in London and registered with the accrediting body BACP. My work is based on Psychodynamic, Humanist and Transpersonal traditions.
If you are in a crisis, feel stuck and unhappy, or have a sense that not all is “going as planned”, then seeking support is a step in the right direction. It may be that you are experiencing difficulties in your relationships, both social and intimate, or are trying to find a way forward through painful and overwhelming feelings.
In a caring, confidential and completely accepting environment, you will have the opportunity to talk openly in a way that is not always possible in your day-to-day world. I will listen and help you to gain insight into the difficult and troubling aspects of your life so that you can start to find new meanings, perspectives and relief from anxiety. My particular areas of specialism are relationship and family problems, depression, self-esteem, anxiety, addiction, work-related issues, grief, motherhood and miscarriage.
I offer both counselling and psychotherapy. People often wonder what the difference is. In a nutshell, counselling tends to mean short- to medium-term work on specific issues (up to 6 months) and psychotherapy involves longer-term work which might involve looking at deeper issues.
Whether it is counselling or psychotherapy you choose, my aim is to help bring about positive change in your life. Through gentle exploration, listening and acceptance, I seek to create a safe, trusting and supportive space so that your personal history, circumstances and perspectives can unfold. Our sessions are not about telling you what to do; rather, they involve gently enquiry, a search for greater understanding and a look at how certain recurrent life themes may be affecting you
Each session lasts 50 minutes and is at the same time every week. We normally work for 4 sessions and then discuss whether you think the therapy is going to be helpful to you. We will then work together for as long as you find it useful.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
