About me

I work collaboratively with you, respecting your individual pace while supporting you to explore your experiences, process difficult emotions, and create change where it’s needed. Alongside person-centred counselling, I integrate a range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT techniques where appropriate.

I understand that reaching out for support can feel intimidating. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, low self confidence, the effects of trauma, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling overwhelmed or disconnected, therapy can provide a space to reflect, heal, and rediscover your strengths.

Providing accessible, affordable and compassionate support is deeply important to me. Having experienced the positive impact of counselling in my own life, I understand how supportive it can be to have someone walk alongside you with empathy and no judgement.

Professional Experience

I have extensive experience providing integrative, trauma-informed counselling and therapeutic support to adults, young people, and children, across education, community, and mental health settings.

My current work as a therapeutic lead involves delivering one-to-one counselling and therapeutic mentoring for young people experiencing emotional, behavioural, and educational challenges, helping them develop emotional regulation, resilience, confidence, and wellbeing. I also provide bespoke therapy for children and young people from military families, using creative, relationship-based approaches tailored to individual needs.

I have supported care-experienced adults, offering integrative counselling, advocacy, and collaborative multi-professional working to promote emotional wellbeing, independence, and positive life outcomes.

Alongside longer-term therapeutic work, I have experience delivering mental health support and crisis intervention, managing complex caseloads, supporting individuals in emotional distress, and working within multidisciplinary services to ensure safe, effective care.

Voluntary Counselling Experience

Alongside my employed roles, I have gained valuable counselling experience through voluntary placements, providing therapeutic support to both adults and young people. This has included integrative counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)-informed practice, working with a wide range of presenting issues in community-based counselling services.

Across all of my roles, I have worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, loss and bereavement, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, emotional dysregulation, loneliness, neurodiversity, family challenges, identity issues, and the impact of adverse childhood experiences. My practice is underpinned by compassion, collaboration, and a commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental therapeutic space where clients can explore their experiences and move towards meaningful change.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
