About me

About Me
Hello! I'm Claire, a counsellor based in Rayleigh, Essex. I work with adults, young people and couples, both in person and online across the UK.

My approach is warm, grounded and genuinely tailored to you. I won't push you through a one-size-fits-all process or tell you how you should be feeling. What I will do is give you a space to breathe, slow down and make sense of things, not just on the surface, but underneath, where it really matters.

I work integratively, which means I draw on a range of approaches depending on what you need. If you want someone to really listen without judgement, that's where we start. If you want to understand where things began and why certain patterns keep repeating, we can go there. If you want practical tools to manage what's happening right now (including evidence-based CBT techniques) I can offer that too. We find the approach, pace and depth that's right for you.

What It's Like to Work Together
This is your space to drop the mask. You don't have to have it together, explain yourself perfectly or apologise for struggling. You can show up exactly as you are (anxious, exhausted, unsure or simply not okay) and we'll start from there.

Many of the people I work with tell me that finally being able to talk openly, without fear of judgement or feeling like a burden on the people they love, brings a sense of relief and lightness they haven't felt in a long time.

Areas I Work With
I have particular experience working with:

  • Anxiety and worry
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) including intrusive thoughts, checking, harm OCD and relationship OCD
  • Low self-esteem and self-worth
  • Relationship and couples difficulties
  • Family issues and difficult dynamics
  • Understanding yourself (your patterns, your history, your needs).

Getting Started
Reaching out can feel like the hardest part. You don't have to have it all figured out before you get in touch. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can get a feel for whether working together seems right, no pressure and no commitment required. Or if you'd prefer to go ahead and book, you're very welcome to do that too.
