About me
Sometimes, life throws us a challenge, whether it's anxiety, overwhelm, depression, low self-esteem, a relationship conflict - be it familial or romantic. Whatever you're facing, you don't have to do it alone. I'd be honoured to help you navigate it. I provide support and guidance to individuals and couples, helping them find clarity, peace and confidence.
Who Am I?
Hello! I’m Claire, an integrative counsellor dedicated to helping individuals and couples. To ensure your safety and confidentiality, I’m registered with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), the Information Commissioner’s office (ICO) and hold an enhanced DBS.
To date, I’ve had the privilege of working with many young people and adults, supporting them through challenges like anxiety (including generalised anxiety, social anxiety and OCD), feelings of sadness, low self-esteem, relationship struggles, family issues, and bereavement, among others.
I genuinely love holding space for others, witnessing their journeys, and supporting them in their unique process of growth and healing.
How Do I Work?
My doors are open to young people and adults, individuals and couples. As an integrative counsellor, I’m able to offer counselling tailored to your personal needs and consider your preferences (talking therapy, interventions, homework, etc.) in finding effective ways to cope and move forward.
For couples, I provide dedicated therapy to improve communication, manage conflicts, and reconnect emotionally. Whether you want to strengthen your relationship or navigate specific challenges, I can support you both through this process.
I aim to keep things simple and approachable—no confusing jargon or overwhelming information. If you’re curious about the methods I use, you can visit my website and click on the “Learn More” button on the homepage.
Sessions are held at my comfortable, accessible space in Rayleigh, Essex, which is easy to reach by bus, train, or car. If you prefer, I can also offer sessions in Southend-on-Sea (please specify your location when booking). Alternatively, I provide online counselling across the UK, so you can access support from the comfort of your home or your preferred private space.
Why Choose Me?
Helping others is my passion. I’m committed to offering a warm, honest, and friendly environment where you feel safe to share your feelings. I continuously update my skills through CPD and training, ensuring I can support you with the most effective approaches. Building a genuine connection is fundamental to successful therapy, so from our very first contact, I’ll listen carefully, understand your perspective, and work together with you towards your goals.
I believe everyone has the potential to grow, thrive, and find happiness - even during difficult times. If you’re seeking a compassionate, understanding partner to support you through your experiences and challenges, I’d be truly honoured to work with you.
What Can You Expect?
Starting therapy can feel daunting, but I’m here to support you every step of the way. Whatever you’re feeling, you’ll find a safe space to express yourself without fear or embarrassment.
Our sessions are about you! You’re the expert here and I’m a tool - I’ll listen carefully, offer understanding and gently guide you towards a developed self-awareness and a feeling of empowerment. Together, we’ll set realistic goals to help you heal, improve your well-being and enhance your quality of life.

Further information
At Argyle Counselling in-person sessions will take place in a warm and cosy room at my home in Rayleigh. It’s a comfortable setting that allows us the privacy to focus on your needs without interruption. I understand that not everyone will be able to travel whatever the reason, so I also offer online counselling. For this, you do not need to download anything, simply follow the link I provide. As with face-to-face, online counselling also requires privacy so you will need a safe space where you won’t be overheard or interrupted.
Argyle Counselling is based in Rayleigh SS6. It is a 25-30 minute walk from the train station, is reachable by the no. 20 and 25 First Essex buses, and just off the A127 with ample street parking for those travelling by car. It is easily accessible from Southend-on-Sea, Westcliff-on-Sea, Leigh-on-Sea, Hadleigh, Benfleet, Wickford, Hullbridge, Hockley, and Rochford.
For the Southend-on-Sea location, there is no train station nearby but plenty of buses come this way with a short walk to the room, it's just off the A127 and has a few allocated parking spaces for you to use.
**Both locations have steps into the room and do not have lift/ramp access.**
