About me
Good mental health is not simply the absence of psychological problems. It is about thinking, acting and feeling in ways that enable you to live joyfully, overcome challenges and flourish.
I know that choices when selecting a professional can be overwhelming. Just by looking at the lists of therapists that you can potentially select, and reading about different therapies that you cannot really understand might be frustrating.
Whether you are feeling stressed or depressed, you are facing a crisis point in your life or trying to find meaning, or if you simply cannot go on as you have been, I can help you to look at things differently and find your own new way of being. My practice is a safe, non-judgmental and empowering space. You can meet with me face to face in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, have telephone counselling or online counselling. I see people from different ethnic backgrounds and sexual orientations, and I offer therapy in English and Greek.
Training, qualifications & experience
My training began in 2008 with a BSc in Psychology at the University of Manchester. A psychology degree in the United Kingdom encompasses a generalist training that equips the psychologist to assist a wide range of people. Since then, I have completed two qualifications at Master’s level, a Master’s degree in Psychology of Child Development and a UK-based counselling training in psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy at the University of Leicester. Obtaining these qualifications has involved years of therapy and supervised clinical practice.
I currently offer counselling support as a school counsellor in a secondary school in Leicester, and as psychodynamic counsellor in the Leicester Centre for Psychodynamic Counselling (LCPC). I have six years of clinical experience in counselling settings supporting people who experience a range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
