Psychotherapist - Clinical Supervisor - Adults & Couples

About me

Perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, struggling in your relationships, or carrying more than those around you realise. You may appear to be coping on the surface whilst privately feeling exhausted, disconnected, anxious, misunderstood or uncertain about how to move forward.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes there is a specific issue that needs attention. At other times there is a growing sense that life no longer feels quite right. Whatever brings you here, therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and make sense of your experiences within a safe, confidential and supportive space.

I am an experienced Psychotherapist, Couples Therapist and Clinical Supervisor working with adults and couples in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. I offer face-to-face sessions from my private practice at Ransom Wood Business Park, alongside online therapy for clients across the UK and internationally.

I work with a wide range of emotional, psychological and relational difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, emotional regulation difficulties and complex life experiences. I also have extensive experience supporting autistic and ADHD adults, including those who have spent years masking their difficulties, feeling misunderstood, struggling within relationships or navigating the challenges of work, family life and everyday demands.

Alongside individual therapy, a significant part of my work is with couples. Relationships can become stuck in cycles of misunderstanding, conflict, emotional distance or repeated arguments that leave both partners feeling unheard and disconnected. Therapy provides a space to better understand these patterns and develop more open, honest and meaningful ways of relating to one another.

I have particular expertise in working with neurodiverse couples where one or both partners are autistic or ADHD. These relationships often involve deep care and commitment alongside differences in communication, sensory needs, emotional processing and ways of understanding the world. My role is not to decide who is right or wrong, but to help both partners develop greater understanding of themselves, each other and the relationship they are trying to build together.

My approach is Humanistic, Integrative and Relational. I believe that meaningful change happens through understanding, awareness and the quality of the therapeutic relationship itself. Therapy is not about fixing what is broken. It is about making sense of your experiences, understanding yourself more fully and finding a way forward that feels authentic, sustainable and true to who you are.

I am also influenced by Existential philosophy and often work with questions around meaning, identity, responsibility, loss, uncertainty and what it means to live well in an increasingly complex world.

Clients often describe me as calm, thoughtful, grounded and easy to talk to. I aim to offer a space where people feel able to speak openly, explore difficult experiences honestly and feel genuinely understood without fear of judgement.

Alongside therapy, I provide Clinical Supervision for trainee and qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and other helping professionals.

I hold a PgDip in Counselling & Psychotherapy, a PgCert in Clinical Supervision and a BSc in Human Science. I am a Registered Member of the NCPS and have additional specialist training in Autism, ADHD and DBT-informed practice. I have worked within mental health, counselling, learning disability and support services for over 30 years, bringing this breadth of experience into my therapeutic work.
