About me

Hi, I'm Chris. I am an integrative counsellor, with a person-centred approach at the heart of my work. I believe we all have the capacity to work through difficulties when offered the right conditions. Sometimes what we need most is simply a safe space to talk and feel heard.

I offer a warm, non-judgemental environment that invites you to explore your challenges, uncover new perspectives, and build confidence in who you are. At the heart of therapy is the relationship between client and counsellor, a collaborative alliance that provides trust and safety for you to show up as you are and feel truly supported. Together, we create the conditions for you to work through whats troubling you, at a pace that suits you to develop self-esteem and move toward a feeling of peace with yourself and the world around you.

I have experience working with individuals on issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, bereavement, intrusive thoughts, life transitions, and many other difficulties that might be affecting you.

Much of my work centres on nurturing self-compassion. I believe many of our struggles arise from the way we view ourselves. In our sessions, I draw on a range of approaches to offer insight and helpful perspectives that can help you overcome unhelpful thoughts and meet life’s challenges with greater resilience, understanding and kindness for yourself.

If you feel like what I can offer might work for you, please do get in touch. We can then arrange a free 20 minute consultation over the phone. This is an opportunity for us to talk through your hopes and expectations for counselling, for you to get a sense of how I work, and to see whether it feels like the right fit for you moving forward.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
