My name is Cheryl, I am a fully qualified , experienced counsellor and supervisor who works safely & effectively with Adults & young people 

I love being a part of your counselling journey and I support people in their desire to work towards change.

I know it can be challenging making that first step to see a counsellor but together we can build a therapeutic relationship built on trust & honesty.

I am a registered , accredited member of the NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society ) and i abide by their ethical framework & guidelines.

I can offer flexibly to assist with busy work schedules & shift patterns .

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

I am an experienced therapist, here to support you through the challenges of life and to help you regain a sense of balance and control. I work with adults facing a wide range of psychological, physical and emotional difficulties that can feel overwhelming . This may include feeling anxious, depressed or stressed, which can impact on your well being . Low self- esteem, self- worth and self confidence can have a massive impact on our mental health and can leave you feeling sad, angry and sometimes lonely. I offer Integrative counselling, which means i work with Person-Centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural therapy ( CBT ) and Psychodynamic therapy as well as many other modalities . Together we can work towards helping you to move forward with greater confidence and happiness.

Young People.

I provide compassionate and creative therapy to you young people who may be struggling with self esteem , self worth and emotional well being which may have developed through loss , trauma or social environments. With many years experience working privately and as a school counsellor i have  developed a person centred solution focused approach that helps the young person to process and express their experiences and feelings . Overthinking, panic attacks , self harm can have such a massive impact on everyone involved including the family . I will provide a safe space where challenging times can be managed whilst maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards. 

Bereavement Therapy. 

Bereavement is the deep sense of loss we feel after losing someone we love . You may experience a wide range of emotions,including sadness, anger, guilt loneliness, and even fear and anxiety. Grief is a deeply personal journey, and it is important to remember there is no right or wrong way to feel. I am here to support you in processing your emotions and to manage your loss in a safe confidential space.

I work privately from my personal studio where I offer face to face counselling, telephone and video counselling.

I am a fully insured counsellor and have a valid and enhanced DBS Certificate

I am an accredited member of the  National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society ( NCPS ).
