About me

Hi my name is Cher, welcome to my profile. I understand choosing a counsellor can be a daunting or scary process, but I hope my approach will help you feel more at ease during the process.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I don't believe there is just one approach to therapy. Instead I take into account your individual circumstances and combine various techniques from different modalities to best suit you. This may include person-centred, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Creative therapy, depending on your needs.

Integrative Counselling is a talking-based therapy, offering you a safe and private space to talk about and address any issues you are experiencing. It can help with a range of short or long-term issues including relationships, depression, trauma, anxiety, addiction, bereavement or low self-esteem. The goal is to provide you with a confidential space in which you can explore your issues to help you cope, and live a happier and healthier life.

I have experience Counselling adults and young people from diverse backgrounds including individuals from the LGBTQ+ community and many clients who are neurodiverse. I am currently taking on new clients in person in Leamington Spa and Stratford Upon Avon locations (depending on availability). I can also offer online Counselling if this better suits your needs. You are welcome to have a free initial phone call; this is gain an overview of why you are seeking counselling and for you to ask any questions you like to hopefully get a feel for whether I am the right counsellor for you. Which is an important step in building a therapeutic relationship.

For more information around the ethical principals, values and good practice standards I adhere too. Please visit the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) website. www.bacp.co.uk

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
